A fairly recent phenomenon following the Netflix model for renting movies online has emerged to be quite a beneficial service for book lovers and even college students wanting to save money by renting college textbooks.
Libraries are receiving limited funding and are struggling to stock titles. There are long waitlists for top sellers and new releases. Return a book late and now you are also paying late fees for that book you waited weeks to read. To read an e-book on the go, you need to purchase a reader, such as the Kindle. If your budget does not allow for gadgets like this where buying ebooks are necessary in order to read them, then you might consider renting a book online. Buying books can also add up over time, and then you have the issue of space. Selling your used books is automatically a loss.
Much the same way Netflix works, when you rent a book online, it gets delivered directly to you. Forget about library late fees, as with renting movies online, these fees are also non-existent. Keep the book or books for as long as you want. College students can save hundreds of dollars by renting textbooks.
Membership rates start around $9.99/month. Look for special deals and promotions and you could save even more.
Search books by ISBN, title, or by author and never be on another waiting list for another new release or bestseller.
